Description: Leaves are usually elliptical and are about 3 to 8 inches long. The plant grows in moist soil or shallow water and spreads by seed or rhizomes. The plant provides good habitat for invertebrates, which are eaten by fish and waterfowl. Delta arrowhead is the most common Sagittaria found in this region.
Chemical Control Options: 2,4-D, glyphosate, fluridone, imazapyr, imazamox, endothall or diquat.
Mechanical Control Options: Cutting is only temporarily effective due to rhizomatic growth.
Biological Control Options: There is not a good biological control option.
